Acknowledged as one of today’s top Blues harp players and singers, RJ Mischo’s music is drenched in the grease of the juke joint shuffles that have stayed in style since before they called it Rock & Roll. He started playing at the age of ten and by 19 was working as a full-time professional musician in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, playing with some of the area’s most highly respected Blues legends and eventually forming his own band, Blues Deluxe. A move to California in 1996 brought Mischo a wider audience and a prolific performance schedule at major venues and festivals across the United States, Europe and extensively up and down the West Coast. In addition to 12 releases of his own, RJ also appears on at least 25 CDs as a guest or on compilations with such luminaries as Jimmie Vaughan, James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Candye Kane, G.Love, and John Mayall.
