Hello, comrades. In this video, I talk about the question of the state; one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented aspect of Marxism. Us Marxist-Leninists do find some common ground with Anarchists when it comes to smashing the Capitalist state, however, it is the question of what should replace the Capitalist state which is where us Marxist-Leninists and the Anarchists fall out in particular. Keep in mind that this video is only a brief explanation of the question of the state and the clear differences between us Marxist-Leninists and the Anarchists for anybody who finds the question of the state hard to understand, because it took me quite a while to understand.
Us Marxist-Leninists recognise that the liberation of the working class can only be achieved through the overthrow of the Capitalist class and the disappearance of classes. Once classes have finally disappeared, the state will have no function to perform. The state by its very nature has an instrument of one class to oppress and suppress another class. Once there is no longer another class to be oppressed and suppressed, the state really doesn't have a job anymore. Secondly, us Marxist-Leninists recognise that after the conquest of political power, the working class must utterly destroy the Capitalist state and substitute for it a workers' state, consisting of an organisation of armed workers (similar to that of the Soviet state).
Anarchists, on the other hand want to completely abolish the state overnight, while failing to understand what gave rise to the coming of the historical scene of the state, and what conditions must be there in order for it to disappear. While Anarchists insist on the destruction of the Capitalist state, they have no clear idea of what the working class will put in its place and how it will use its revolutionary power. They even deny that the working class should use state power, they deny its revolutionary dictatorship.
In order for the Socialist Revolution to succeed, the proletariat must build it's own state and gear themselves towards the armed suppression of the overthrown Capitalist class, and only when the proletariat has finally defeated the Bourgeoisie can it begin to dismantle the state and transform a Socialist society into a Communist society.
I cannot find any simpler explanations and descriptions of the question of the state, so these links below should hopefully clear up any misconceptions and help you get your head around the state question that is so misunderstood.
If you want a more detailed explanation on the question of the state, then I'd recommend that you go and read Lenin's book, 'The State And Revolution'.

If you didn't understand a word that I've said in this video, then I'd recommend that you go and check out Matt Florence's video 'Why Do Communists Build States?' as this will hopefully give you a better understanding of the question of the state.

I'd also recommend that you go and watch my video, 'SOCIALISM AND DEMOCRACY' as I give examples of two Socialist states; the Soviet Union and Cuba.
