1) Noun (Name of a person/place/animal/thing/idea)
A noun is a name.
Examples:
teacher, Myanmar, book, city, happiness
In sentences:
The boy is playing.
I bought a phone.
A dog is barking.

2) Pronoun (Replaces a noun)
A pronoun is used instead of a noun.
Examples:
I, you, he, she, it, we, they
my, your, his, her
this, that, these, those
In sentences:
She is my sister. (She = a person)
They are students.

3) Verb (Action or state)
A verb shows action or state/condition.
Action verbs: run, eat, write, speakState verbs: be, seem, feel, know
In sentences:
He runs every morning.
I am happy.
She knows the answer.

4) Adjective (Describes a noun or pronoun)
An adjective tells us more about a noun (color, size, quality, etc.)
Examples:
big, small, beautiful, interesting, old, new
In sentences:
She has a beautiful dress.
It is a difficult question.

5) Adverb (Describes a verb/adjective/adverb)
An adverb tells how, when, where, how often something happens.
Examples:
quickly, slowly, yesterday, here, always, very
In sentences:
He speaks slowly. (how)
I will go tomorrow. (when)
She is very smart. (very = adverb for adjective “smart”)

6) Preposition (Shows relationship: time/place/direction)
A preposition usually comes before a noun/pronoun and shows relationship.
Examples:
in, on, at, under, behind, between, to, from
In sentences:
The book is on the table.
She lives in Yangon.
He went to school.

7) Conjunction (Connects words/phrases/clauses)
A conjunction joins parts of a sentence.
Common conjunctions:
and, but, or, so, because, although
In sentences:
I like tea and coffee.
He studied hard but failed.
I stayed home because it was raining.

8) Interjection (Shows strong feeling)
An interjection is a short word that shows emotion.
Examples:
Wow! Oh! Oops! Hey! Ah!
In sentences:
Wow! That’s amazing!
Oops! I dropped it.
