How a Villager from Solapur Waged a War Against Drought (गोष्ट एका व्यक्तीच्या जिद्दीची)

जंगलातील वणवा आपल्या चोचीने विजवणाऱ्या चिमणीचा आदर्श समोर ठेवून, कुणाच्याही मदतीशिवाय काम करणारे उत्तर सोलापुरातील पडसाळी गावचे विष्णू भोसले, हे आपल्या सगळ्यांसाठीच आदर्श उदाहरण आहे.

"माझं नाव बघणाऱ्यांमधे नाही तर, प्रयत्न करणाऱ्यांमधे असलं पाहिजे" - या विचारातून त्यांनी एकट्याने सत्यमेव जयते वाॅटर कप स्पर्धेसाठी श्रमदान सुरु केलं आणि नंतर त्यांच्या मदतीला आल्या फक्त दोन वयोवृद्ध व्यक्ती. या तिघांच्या कामावर प्रभावित होऊन आमिर आणि किरण यांनी स्वतः त्यांच्या बरोबर जाऊन श्रमदान केले आणि गप्पाही मारल्या. पहा या जिद्दीचा व्हिडीओ:    • How a Villager from Solapur Waged a W...  

Despite being some 2000-strong, the residents of Padsali village in Maharashtra's Solapur district were less than enthusiastic about building watershed structures through their own labour during the Water Cup 2017. One man, Vishnu Bhosale, was not happy with this situation. He and his wife had attended the training programme on watershed development organised by Paani Foundation. He had tried to get his fellow villagers to join him in doing shramdaan and other work. But his overtures to them turned out to be fruitless.
So Bhosale decided to go ahead with doing the work on his own. He finally found two volunteers, two senior citizens named Manik Mali and Shahaji Bhosale. They decided to remove silt from the village pond, and began working with gusto. They believed that three people can make a difference. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, Paani Foundation's co-founders, found their story so inspiring that they decided to visit the three lonesome volunteers, and even joined them in shramdaan. The village was so inspired by this visit that the very next day after Aamir and Kiran's visit, 22 people joined the three original volunteers for shramdaan. View the video here.
