Vaal Nu Shaak is a traditional and an old Gujarati recipe. This is a nutritious and a tasty recipe. This recipe is often prepared in Gujarati Wedding Functions.

Recipe:

Ingredients:
250 Grams Boiled Butter Beans (Vaal)
1 Tablespoon Gram Flour (Besan)
1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
1-1½ Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
1½ -2 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
1-1.5 Kitchen King Masala
2-3 Teaspoons Tamarind Water
1 Teaspoon Jaggery (Gud)
Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
Salt
Oil
Water

Procedure:
1.Heat oil and add carom seeds, asafoetida, gram flour and fry well.
2.Add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder and mix well.
3.Add butter beans (vaal) & stir well.
4.Add water used to boil vaal and stir well.
5.Add tamarind water, jaggery, salt and kitchen king masala.
6.Close lid and cook for 3-5 minutes.
7.Add some coriander leaves and mix well. Vaal Nu Shaak is ready to eat.
