In Lesson 13 of this Unity RPG course, we’re adding a Dynamic Enemy Sound System that makes your monsters feel alive, aggressive, and unpredictable. Cool visuals are great — but sound is what actually gives your combat weight, danger, and personality. In this episode, you’ll learn how to give your enemies unique voice lines for attacking, chasing, spotting the player, taking damage, and dying.

Instead of making enemies play the same boring sound every time, we create a system that selects random voice lines from a list. This results in natural variation — sometimes enemies growl, sometimes they scream, sometimes they taunt you with lines like:
“Die, pathetic mortal!”
or
“Your soul is mine!”

This makes gameplay more immersive and way more fun to interact with.

We’ll create a very clean and expandable script that lets you:

– Add multiple attack sounds
– Add multiple death sounds
– Add hurt sounds if you want
– Trigger audio based on enemy animation events
– Add cooldowns so enemies don’t spam sounds

You’ll also learn how to connect the sound system to your enemy combat logic so voice lines only trigger at the correct moments — like when the enemy actually swings a weapon, hits the player, or dies.

This lesson works perfectly with everything we’ve made so far: melee enemies, projectile enemies, health systems, hit effects, and AI movement using NavMesh. Once you add dynamic audio, your whole game world feels more responsive and dangerous.

By the end of this video, you’ll have:

– A fully dynamic and reusable sound manager for enemies
– Randomized voice barks with custom chances
– Attack and death audio that plays at the right time
– Easy-to-edit arrays in the Inspector
– A cleaner, more immersive RPG combat experience
