Morse radio station K6KPH/KSM in California, USA

Описание к видео Morse radio station K6KPH/KSM in California, USA

Station KPH was a world-renowned coastal radio station. It is now a working museum, under the coastal call KSM and amateur radio call K6KPH. Run by highly dedicated and talented operators it is keeping the sound of Morse Code alive on the airwaves. The transmitters are in Bolinas and the receive station is at Point Reyes, up the coast. I visited in September 2012 while on a business trip to California.

My original video had some background music and many visitors said that they would prefer to hear the Morse code. So I have re-cut it leaving the original CW sound in. Hope you like it.

In the video Roger G3LDI calls K6KPH on 20m (14 MHz) and asks if I am there. Roger lives about 5 miles away from my home in the UK. His 400W signal travelled across the globe from a 3el SteppIR Yagi at 110ft - a distance of more than 5,000 miles.
