With this film, I would like to introduce you to the beautiful and picturesque area where my boyfriend and I fly from Unterwössen in Bavaria. The video shows the beauty of soaring in the northern Alps from the Karwendel Mountains in the West to the Dachstein in the East. From Chiemsee in the Nort to the Grossglockner in the South. Join me for a glider flight with stunning cockpit views, ridge soaring and breathtaking mountain scenery.

Unterwössen in the Chiemgau, Bavaria is home to DASSU, the German Alpine Gliding School, where thousands of glider pilots have ventured into the Alps since the 1950s and made a significant contribution to establishing this unique sport and bringing it to the technical perfection we enjoy today.

In this video, I give you an overview of the most beautiful regions that you can easily reach from there by glider. But Unterwössen is not only a great starting point for glider pilots; the whole family can take trips from there, get to know the country and its people, or explore the surrounding area.

Austria is only a stone's throw away and offers many attractions. Beautifully situated golf courses with enchanting views of rugged rocky ridges will enchant you just as much as deep green swimming lakes and endless hiking opportunities with huts and regional cuisine. On the German side, Lake Chiemsee with the famous castle of King Ludwig II is by no means the only attraction that invites you to get to know the area better.

From a flying perspective, the area is deeply impressive. Steep rocky giants alternate with green, forested mountains. Reservoirs, ice, and glaciers are waiting to be explored from the air, and unspoiled villages with medieval history blend harmoniously into the picture.

With the German Alpine Gliding School, you have a strong partner. Book a cross-country flight course, sit in a two-seater with a flight instructor, or charter a single-seater to explore the area. DASSU offers a return service for charter customers. It doesn't get any better than that, does it?

Why am I making this video? I have been flying with great passion for a relatively short time and have discovered these wonders that surround us here completely new to me. Even at a young age, I explored the Alpine region in different ways. Partly by hiking, mountain biking, or motorcycling. But gliding not only opens up new perspectives, it eclipses everything else.

I would like to share this passion with you and hopefully with many others. However, I note with some concern that younger people in particular are losing their sense of adventure. That's why I'm trying to inspire many people to take up this sport with the most beautiful pictures and to sweep you along with my passion.

Eine Info für meine deutschsprachigen Zuschauer: Ich werde meine Videos künftig in englischer Sprache produzieren, um möglichst ein noch größeres und internationales Publikum zu erreichen. Hintergrund ist das aus meiner Wahrnehmung abnehmende Interesse am Segelflugsport. Mit Unterwössen haben wir im deutschsprachigen Raum mitunter das schönste und interessanteste Tor in die Alpen und können mit der DASSU für Einsteiger und auch ausländische Touristen sehr interessante Möglichkeiten bieten. Die Chartermöglichkeiten öffnen für viele Pilotinnen und Piloten völlig neue Wege und die Streckenflugkurse machen den Traum des Fliegens in den Alpen zur Realität. Lasst uns diese Chance nutzen und möglichst viele Menschen dafür begeistern, diese Naturwunder selbst zu erfahren!
