Sinus headache are caused due to infections in the paranasal sinus. The paranasal sinus occupies the bones around the face surrounding the head. So any increase in pressure can cause pain, that is a dull aching pain, sometimes a throbbing pain. So you get forehead pain, adapting to cheek bones, occipital pain. The formal sinus gives rise to frontal pain, the maxillary sinuses contributes to such pain in the back of the head is because of sphenoid sinusitis, there can be vacuum headaches caused by the sinuses. Migraines headaches are different set of symptoms . It is a throbbing headache unilateral, can be bilateral.
