Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM vs 50mm f/1.4 GM. Which one is better ?

A comparison between the slightly older 50mm GM f/1.2 and the newer 50mm GM f1.4. I personally like them both, probably the 1.2 is a better fit for photography and the 1.4 for videography, being smaller as well as lighter in weight.
No, the new GM lens is not the best lens Sony has ever made😂, it is a great lens, and if you can only buy one, either because of your budget or you don't want clutter then the 1.4 makes more sense. That said, they're both amazing and no matter which one you choose you will not be disappointed.

By the way between f/1.2 and f1.4 is neither 1/3 of a stop nor half a stop.
F/1.2 is somewhere in between those two. So neither is correct nor wrong.
F/1 + 2/3 of a stop = f/1.2599. F/1 + 1/2 stop= f/ 1.1892 so you could argue that f/1.2 is closer to half a stop than it is to 1/3.
