Prabhuji Haldiram's Largest Outlet in Kolkata | VIP Road | Teghoria

Haldiram's today is synonymous with sweets and namkeens in India. We visited the largest outlet of Prabhuji Haldiram's in Kolkata located at VIP road or Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue, Teghoria. Haldiram was found by Shri Ganga Bhishen Agarwal, fondly known as Haldiram in his household as a small retail sweets and namkeen shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. His grandson moved to Nagpur and setup shop there. Then their family members expanded to other parts of India like Delhi and Kolkata. The Kolkata chapter was opened by Rameshwarlal Agarwal and is now looked after by Prabhu Shankar Agarwal. The Prabhu Shankar family has re-branded their stores as Prabhuji's: From the House of Haldiram's.

Haldiram's have diversified from Sweets, Bhujiya and Namkeens to many other things like chocolates, cakes, syrups, beverages, packaged food, snacks, dine in etc. The big store has been beautifully made and the interiors give a premier feeling even though the cost of the products are in and around mid range. Various kinds of soan papadi are available like with honey or elaichi with nuts like almonds etc. I found soan papadis are now mostly available as packaged product. Different kinds of namkeens are available. Tok Jhal I have not seen at other places but is found here. A walk through Prabhuji Haldiram's outlet here will be a treat to the eyes and if you want to have something then it will be a treat to the mouth :-). There have dine also so you can come here and try delicacies with friends and family.
