S.T.Dupont Hooked | Review

There are a lot of places to start a conversation about the S.T.Dupont's Hooked lighter. There's the $59 price, unheard of for S.T.Dupont; there's the weird ring/hook attachment, a feature seemingly no one has ever wanted for a lighter like this; there's the fact that one of the many colorways for the lighter is decorated with images of stick figures in sex positions—yes, you read that right.

But let's start with the fact that it's worked every time.

S.T.Dupont's new Hooked lighter is a pretty clear attempt by S.T.Dupont to find new customers. At $59, it's closer in price to a Zippo than any other lighter S.T.Dupont sells. It doesn't ping, it's made in China, and it's lacking pretty basic features, but it still says S.T.Dupont on it and it still lights up each the time ignition was pressed.
