Ultum Nature Systems UNS 45T Rimless Glass Aquarium Tank Dutch Style

Fuchsia Fury is our first Dutch-Style planted aquarium tank. Dutch style aquascaping is best known for the absence of hardscape material and the use of vibrantly colored aquatic plant species. Dutch style aquariums often include a curated plant list as each species needs to be strategically placed to highlight individual characteristics while simultaneously producing a cohesive, manicured look.

Using a UNS 45T tall aquarium as our base, the goal was to achieve a simple gradient effect. We chose a variety of vibrant pink to deep maroon toned aquatic plants and planted them based on growth pattern, size and color. In the foreground, species such as Cryptocoryne Sp. Pink Flamingo (Pink Panther) and Hygrophila Sp. Chai were used. A mix of midground aquatic plants were chosen to blend naturally into a background of brightly colored stem plants such as Ludwigia Natans ‘Super Red’ and various Rotalas.

Dutch style planted tanks require precision trimming and typically demand more maintenance to maintain the desired look. We are excited to see the plants mature and hope you stick around for the updates!
