Thank you, Valentina Minayeva, for granting me permission to demonstrate your design!

To make the Shalimar Kusudama, you will need 60 duo colored or Kami papers that are pre-cut to the ratio of 3.5:4. For complete details on the paper size, head over to my website: http://origamitutorials.com/shalimar-...

The folding of the modules is not too difficult and is easily remembered after your fold your first units. To achieve more accuracy, you can pre-score two lines.

The assembly is kind of a two step process. First you need to assemble all your 12 cones. Each cone is put together by 5 single modules. It is not too tricky to assemble the cone, but it does require a bit of patience and calm hands. Also try to be gentle with your papers, as you can tear off parts.

The second part of the assembly is to put all 12 cones together to form your Shalimar kusudama. Again, this is not over difficult, and once you understand the process, this could be done in about half an hour.

You don't need any glue or even paper clips during the assembly. The Shalimar kusudama holds together very nicely.

If you want more details on the paper, the folding or the assembly, head over to the article on my website.

Have Fun and Happy Folding!
