Todd Howard and the Fallout show's creators say they didn't pick a canon ending for New Vegas in response to fan criticism that the Fallout Show Season 2 made certain endings to Fallout New Vegas canon.

Technically, they're right. But here's the problem: they didn't need to pick an ending, they just made all of them irrelevant in Season 2 of the Fallout Show.

In this video, I break down why so many Fallout New Vegas fans are upset about Season 2's finale, and why Todd Howard's defense of "conflicting accounts" misses the point entirely.

The show didn't confirm whether the NCR, Legion, House, or Yes Man won at Hoover Dam. Instead, it showed us a Mojave where none of those victories mattered, where everything reset to chaos anyway, and where Mr. House just won't stay dead.

This isn't about picking the "wrong" ending. It's about whether player choice means anything in a shared universe, and whether Bethesda understands what made New Vegas special in the first place.

Todd Howard does provide a response in this new interview with PCGamer, but I don't think his response or Bethesda's position is good in my view...
