Mind and Body: What's the Difference?

What is the difference between mind and body? This is an age old problem in philosophy. We will begin by looking at the history of this relation in Western philosophy and theology, and then move into how they are conceived of in early Buddhism. We will see that the Buddha had an interesting and unique understanding of the problem. We will then finish by seeing how the Buddha's understanding raised its own problem for another aspect of his early teaching.
