First is Turn off Auto Brightness
The auto-brightness feature adjusts the screen brightness in response to ambient light. However, this can sometimes cause a dimming issue. Therefore, let’s follow these steps to resolve the problem.
Launch the settings app on your iPad. Tap on Accessibility. Then, tap on Display & Text Size. Afterward, swipe up and turn off the toggle next to auto brightness. That’s it.
If your iPad screen keeps dimming with auto brightness off, Turn off True Tone.
When you use true tone, the iPad display automatically adapts to ambient lighting conditions to make color appear in different environments.
To turn this feature off, Switch from the top right corner to open the control center. Then, tap on brightness control and touch the true tone icon to turn it off.
If you’ve enabled dark mode on your iPad, tap to turn it off. Dark mode makes the screen appear dimmer.
Alternatively, Launch the settings app on your iPad. Swipe up and tap on Display and Brightness settings. Under the brightness section, turn off the toggle next to True Tone. That’s it.
If your iPad screen goes dark after a few seconds, Check the Auto-lock settings.
To do so, launch the settings app on your iPad. Swipe up and tap on the Display and Brightness section.
Swipe up and tap Auto-lock; select when you want to auto-lock your iPad.
If your iPad’s brightness dims during the night, you may have set it to sleep mode or focus mode.
So, let’s check it. Launch the Settings app, swipe up, and navigate the Focus section. Check if any focus mode is added as sleep mode and head to the schedule options.
From here, you can disable smart activation or tap on schedule time and select delete schedule.
I don’t want to use sleep focus mode on my device, so I am completely deleting it by tapping on the delete focus option. Then, confirm by tapping on the Delete focus option. That’s it.
Numerous users have reported experiencing reduced iPad brightness while charging, which may be attributed to prolonged gaming or social media usage.
For a safety measure, the iPad uses an automatic brightness reduction to reduce the damage caused by overheating. This may affect the brightness and hardware components. For optimal performance, keep the device cool.
