Southwest Airlines 737-800 Afternoon Landing at San Antonio International Airport (SAT)

On the map its not a great distance between Houston and San Antonio but depending on the winds and traffic flows it may not be a straight flight between both cities. Such was the case as we approached and landed at San Antonio International Airport. Flying in from the southeast we flew north of the san Antonio area, setting up for what was essentially a right downwind approach for landing on 31L at SAT. With all of the turns on approach, if it wasn’t for the sun and shadows I would have lost track of which direction we were approaching from. It was cool catching a glimpse of Randolph AFB as we were turning from base to dogleg to final.
