A rare sighting at the Burlington Canal for a decent crowd this afternoon as the 116 year old S.S. Keewatin, one of the last Edwardian vessels in the Titanic era arrived in Hamilton towed by tugboats Molly M 1 at the bow & Wyatt M at the stern as she is bound for the Heddle shipyards to be renovated before moving on to Kingston, ON to become part of the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes. She was built in 1907 in Scotland and originally hauled tourists, settlers and many types of cargo throughout the Great Lakes from the early 20th century until the 1960s. She had previously made stops at Port Colborne & St. Catherines yesterday before today's arrival. Another fact about the S.S. Keewatin is that she is two years older than the Titanic.
