“The author is unknown, he will soon be released,” said friends of Igor Guberman, reading his aphoristic rhymed grouping of four lines (quatrains), named by the author himself as “gariks”, during his five-year imprisonment.
No one has yet calculated how many “gariks” Guberman gave birth to, especially since he continues to write them several a day. They have become an example of humorous aphorism or aphoristic humor for readers. The poet himself says that at the bottom of each of his rhymes there is bitterness, and in life he is generally gloomy, taciturn, despotic, petty, capricious and grumpy.
Another mystery of Guberman is the name of two novels, which he wrote instead of members of the Writers’ Union. The members of the Writers’ Union themselves also keep the secret.
Despite his age of 85, Guberman continues to tour actively, and for his concerts he chooses only funny “gariks”, because, in his own words, he “just feel sorry for the humanity that paid for the ticket.”
He was imprisoned in 1979. Most of Guberman’s official biographies say: “On a falsified charge of buying stolen icons.” Guberman himself quotes the words of the investigator: “Igor Mironovich, do not be angry with us for giving you five years of imprisonment. All your property may be confiscated only if its five years, and the director of our museum likes your collection,” wrote Boris Lozhkin on Facebook.
