Despite the morning rain, Tom and Katya’s day turned into an idyllic summer Saturday, perfect for their outdoor wedding. After we arrived at the neo-classical turn-of-the-century Mooreland Mansion we found Tom and his sister and groomsmen kicking a soccer ball around on the front lawn. After Katya’s arrival, she got into her lovely dress and we had two sweet first looks, first with her bridesmaids and then with her father, both on the mansion’s second floor balcony. Then it was time for the ceremony where, on the stone patio surrounded by gorgeous flowers and gardens, Tom and Katya pledged their lives to each other. At last, it was time to celebrate! First, the couple were presented with the Korovai, a traditional Ukrainian wedding bread by their parents, and then after some heartfelt toasts and dinner it was time to dance! With bubbles glistening in the evening light, Tom and Katya soaked up the fun of dancing, talking, and laughing with their family and friends.
