Ganga Expressway Project Detail

For Omni-directional development of Uttar Pradesh, construction of fully access-controlled Ganga Expressway is proposed starting from NH-334, in district Meerut and ending in district Prayagraj near NH-19 (Prayagraj Bye Pass)

Length of project:- 594 km Approx (Phase-1 Meerut to Prayagraj)

Districts benefited from the project:- Meerut,Hapur, Bulandshahar, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rai Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.

Width of expressway – This expressway will be of 06 lanes (expandable up to 08 lanes) and all the structures will be constructed of 08 lane width. Width of ROW (Right of Way) of the expressway is proposed as 120M, service road  of 3.75 M width will be constructed at one side of the expressway in the staggered form so that residents of nearby villages of the project area may get smooth transportation facility.

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet met at Prayagraj, the venue of the Kumbh Mela and cleared the decks to construct the Ganga Expressway between Meerut and Prayagraj 

Ganga Expressway Development Phases

Phase-1 - The UPEIDA has divided the construction work of 594 km long Phase-1 (Meerut to Prayagraj) into 12 different packages. The total expected project value is around ₹36,230 crores,

Phase-2 - The Government of Uttar Pradesh decided to extend the project on either ends iMeerut to Haridwar (Spur-1) and Prayagraj to Ballia (Spur-2) via Varanasi.
