"We are the genuine communists!" Leading Marxist Fred Weston answers lies about communism on GBNews

Fred Weston, a member of the International Secretariat of the soon-to-be-founded Revolutionary Communist International, went on GBNews to talk about the legacy of communism.

The producers invited Fred to debate with a 'victim of communism': a professional pianist who was born in Romania and spent some of his early life under the Stalinist regime there.

The presenter was seemingly disappointed when an opportunity to lambast Fred about the 'horrors' of communism, instead saw his guest patiently explain that the degenerated regimes of Eastern Europe were not in fact communist, but bureaucratic dictatorships that betrayed the real legacy of Lenin and the October Revolution. The true communists, Fred explained, were the Trotskyists who died in their thousands in Stalin's camps.

What communists really stand for is a society run democratically by the working class, through their organisations, to provide a decent existence to all of humanity. We fight for an end to the capitalist system and all the horrors it creates.
