Punjab is gearing up for a major day of protests on November 26, 2025, involving farmers, power-sector engineers, Panjab University groups, and pensioners. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) will lead a large farmers’ march to Chandigarh to mark five years since the 2020 farmers’ agitation, demanding MSP guarantees and action on earlier protest cases.
Power-sector engineers will launch a statewide protest against political interference and punitive actions, symbolically leaving official WhatsApp work groups.
Panjab University’s Bachao Morcha is demanding the announcement of the Senate election schedule and may shut down the campus if ignored.
Pensioners will demonstrate for the full implementation of the Old Pension Scheme, which remains delayed despite a 2022 notification.
