"Comedian" Munawar Faruqui was beaten and subsequently arrested in Madhya Pradesh for his comments of Hindu deities like Sri Ram and Sita, and Amit Shah.

Such woke political comedy with controversial comments only on Hindus and BJP has emerged as a big trend in the Indian stand up comedy scene.

Other liberal comedians like Vir Das and Agrima Joshua condemned Munawar Faruqui's arrest. This also shows their hypocrisy because they were silent on Kamlesh Tiwari, Ramalingam, and the Bangalore violence.
