Uttarakhand Govt Imposes Curfew In Haldwani After Clashes Broke Out During Madrassa Demolition Drive

In the latest updates from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, over 100 police personnel suffered injuries and at least four individuals lost their lives in violence that struck Haldwani in Uttarakhand on Thursday. In addition, the government enforced a curfew following protests by locals against the destruction of a nearby mosque and "illegally built" madrasa in Banbhoolpura, which led to them setting fire to cars and a police station and throwing stones at it.
