NRI Certificate

NRI (Non Resident Indian) Certificate is issued to Indian Passport holders resident in GTA and other Provinces which comes under the Consular jurisdiction of CGI, Toronto, to enable them sponsor their near relatives for admission under NRI quota in educational institutions in India.
Documents Required:

Miscellaneous Services Form – Download and fill the Miscellaneous application form (click here) paste picture and provide signature at the appropriate place.
Original Indian passport and photocopy of pages of the Indian passport with visas/arrival/departure immigration stamps
Original and a copy of Immigration Documents (PR Card, Landing Paper, Work Permit..Etc.) in respect of Indian passport holders. (If sending the request by mail, please send notarized copy of these documents from the concerned Provincial Government designated Consular offices)
A letter stating / explaining why you require the NRI Certificate and the relevant documents. (for example: name of the person being sponsored by you, copy his/her valid ID (preferably Indian passport or Aadhar card) and documents pertaining to his/her admission to the university/ college in India).
Copy of Proof of Address in Canada (Name, address and ID copy of the person applying for NRI certificate. (Landline telephone bill/electricity bill/gas bill/water bill or Driving License or lease deed (of residence) etc. where the applicant’s Canadian address is clearly mentioned, should be provided)
Fee: A non-refundable fee of C$ 30 to be paid through Debit Card or Money order or Demand Draft, drawn in favor of the ‘Consulate General of India, Toronto.
How to Submit NRI Certificate request at the Consulate

The request can be sent by Post along with copies of required documents, fee and self-addressed prepaid envelope for return of serviced documents.
