Surah Ad-Duha (Chapter 93 of the Qur'an) is a short but deeply comforting chapter revealed in Makkah. It consists of 11 verses and was revealed to console the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during a period of pause in revelation, where he felt abandoned by Allah (SWT).

Ad-Duha (الضحى) means "The Morning Brightness" or "The Morning Light" — a symbol of hope, renewal, and divine presence after darkness.

1. Reassurance from Allah:

“By the morning brightness and the night when it covers with darkness…”
These opening verses use the contrast between day and night to symbolize hope after hardship. Just as morning follows night, ease follows difficulty.

2. Comfort to the Prophet ﷺ:

“Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased.”
Allah assures the Prophet ﷺ that He has not abandoned him, countering the mockery of the disbelievers who claimed otherwise during the gap in revelation.

3. Future Will Be Better:

“And the Hereafter is better for you than the present.”
Allah promises that the future — both in this world and the next — holds greater blessings and success.

4. Reminder of Past Blessings:

“Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? And He found you lost and guided [you]. And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.”
A reflection on the Prophet's past hardships and how Allah had always been there to help and uplift him.

5. Call to Kindness:

“So do not oppress the orphan, nor repel the beggar…”
The surah ends with moral instructions: be gentle with the vulnerable and grateful for Allah’s blessings.
