DRM Revival Nürburgring // Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri Gr. 5

When introduced to the German Racing Championship (Deutsche Rennsport-Meisterschaft, DRM) end of the 70s, the Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri was the super car par excellence as it set the fastest time in the DRM in front of a full house right at the start was - that was something special. The long wheelbase, the good aerodynamics and the power of the turbo engine offered unprecedented possibilities. The following video shows such Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri Gr. 5 in the qualifying of the Deutsche Rennsport-Meisterschaft Revival (DRM) during the 50th AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix on the Nürburgring 2023.

The red, white, black Ford Zakspeed Turbo Capri is the original vehihicle from the German Racing Championship 1980-1982 and was driven by the motorsport legends Klaus Ludwig und Jochen Mass. This Turbo Capri sports a four-cylinder in-line 1.7 liter engine; Zakspeed-further development of the BDA-power train designed by Cosworth for Ford, based on the 1.3 liter Kent-engine.
