Change has been the real constant in Bronte. For many post 1985 residents there is a mythical vision of the community. Yes its past was anchored in fishing. But no this was not a Cabot Cove of TV fame or a Niagara on the Lake. Rather it was far more gritty and definitely working class. There is a constant angst about change with every new development proposal. But if you came after 1980, you were that change. A better Bronte, lies not in opposing change. It is working with change to build the elements that make it more liveable and vibrant.
