In this episode we have Dr. Shaligram Pokharel who is a Professor and Coordinator of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Qatar University since May 2013. He joined Qatar University in 2010 and previously worked at Nanyang Technological University. Dr. Pokharel has a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kashmir and an M.A.Sc. and PhD in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on engineering management, logistics, supply chain, energy planning, and project management, with several published papers and awards.

(संयोजक - मेकानिकल तथा औद्योगिक इन्जिनियरिङ विभाग )

डा. शालिग्राम पोखरेल २०१३ देखि मेकानिकल र औद्योगिक इन्जिनियरिङ विभागमा प्रोफेसरका रूपमा कार्यरत छन् । उनी २०१० मा कतार विश्वविद्यालयमा प्रवेश गरेका थिए । कतार विश्वविद्यालयमा नियुक्त हुनु अघि डा. पोखरेलले नान्याङ प्राविधिक विश्वविद्यालयमा २००० देखि २००५ सम्म सहायक प्रोफेसर र २००५ देखि २०१० सम्म एसोसिएट प्रोफेसरका रूपमा काम गरेका थिए । उनले एक मेकानिकल इन्जिनियरिङ कम्पनी र नेपाल सरकारसँग पनि काम गरेका थिए ।

डा. पोखरेलले कश्मीर विश्वविद्यालयको क्षेत्रीय इन्जिनियरिङ कलेजबाट सम्मान सहित बीई (मेकानिकल इन्जिनियरिङ) र क्यानाडाको अन्टारियोस्थित वाटरलू विश्वविद्यालयबाट एमएएससी र पीएचडी (सिस्टम डिजाइन इन्जिनियरिङ) प्राप्त गरेका छन् ।

डा. पोखरेलको अनुसन्धान इन्जिनियरिङ व्यवस्थापन क्षेत्रमा केन्द्रित छ । उनले आपूर्ति श्रृंखला, ऊर्जा योजना र मोडेलिङ र परियोजना व्यवस्थापनमा अनुसन्धान गरेका छन् । यी क्षेत्रहरूमा धेरै लेखहरू प्रकाशित गरेका डा. पोखरेलले "Best Paper Awards In A Journal and A Conference" मा उत्कृष्ट पुरस्कार पनि प्राप्त गरेका छन् ।
