There is no need for a preface about the existing tensions between Ukraine and Russia. Amidst these critical situations, it must be a topic of relevance to discuss about who can travel to the latter. On a regular basis, Russia opens its gates to travelers from all across the world, including India. With that, they have imposed certain travel restrictions keeping in mind the ongoing covid pandemic. Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shops are open with conditions in Russia with reduced capacity to allow social distancing and the use of masks, gloves, and sanitizer.
Essentially you need a visa to travel to Russia. Citizens with a residence permit or other valid documents confirm your right to reside permanently in Russia is another proper documentation required. The residents of Russia can travel freely in and out of the country.
Seamen of foreign nationalities and seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed, subjects to clear ends from the ministry of shipping. Also, transit through Russia is not permitted for travelers out of the nation. The current guidelines say that the travelers from India, United Kingdom, Turkey, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Maldives, Egypt, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Cuba, Serbia, Japan, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Qatar, Finland, and Seychelles are allowed to travel on direct flights to Russia and on flights that originate from or destiny to Russia.
