Amtrak NEC Advance Approach Signals (and total bulb-out condition)

Описание к видео Amtrak NEC Advance Approach Signals (and total bulb-out condition)

Here we see the 793 automatic signals on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor two signal blocks north of SHORE interlocking. Due to the close block spacing, the advance approach aspect can be routinely seen here.

What we normally do not see, however, is the dreaded bulb-out condition. Amtrak's colorized position-light signals have the advantage of having two aspects per indication to act as a failsafe in the event that one aspect goes out .. but here, BOTH of the red aspects on the southbound signal for track 2 have burnt out, leaving only the white 'stop & proceed' marker light to show for it.
