The Ian Davison Folk Group - The Jeely Piece Song

Scotia Label from 1968.
I picked this one up last week from Ebay. It's a wee piece of Scottish Folk History after all. I think this was the first recorded version of this well-kent song.
I received this information from the writer of 'Jeely Piece', the great Adam McNaughtan;
---------------------------
Scotia was a label of SMD Recordings, run at that time by James B. Wallace, who probably also engineered. The record was produced by David Kinnaird, a singer/broadcaster who worked with Wallace on several discs. David Kinnaird died in 1969/70. SMD stood for Scottish Master Discs. I think perhaps RCA were involved in the production of the Ian Davison Folk Group disc. There was a re-issue early in 1970 with a white label.

The group consisted of Ian Davison, Karine, his wife, Anne Neilson, John Craig, and Ian Young
John Craig played banjo, Ian Davison and Ian Young played guitar. Ian and Karine sang lead on "The Jeely Piece Song" and I think Karine and Anne sang in unison on the verses of "An Auld Man". All five sang on the choruses.
Ian Davison died on Christmas day 2016
