I have some Beautiful wedding dresses to share with you in this video!

Here, I'm introducing a new series about to start on my channel about what to do with your old wedding dress and this video is an introduction so you know what to expect in the coming weeks.

If you’ve got your dress tucked away in the loft, I’m hoping I can inspire you to get it out and bring it back into your life again, by using sample dresses like these:

Did you know there are an estimated 50 million old wedding dresses hidden in peoples attics just in the Uk and US? So if you’ve kept hold of yours, you’re not alone.

I’m Caroline Arthur, I’m a British bridal gown designer and dressmaker and the first thing I’d like to do to introduce this new series is to share a glimpse of the wedding dresses we’ll be exploring over the coming weeks.

These dresses were all donated by bridal boutiques in the UK once they had come to the end of their lives. They are samples that had been discontinued, so brides could no longer order them and ultimately they would end up in a charity shop or being used by a fashion student, or hopefully not, but possibly, in landfill.

So I’ve rescued them and used them to feature in my new coffee table book RELOVABLE which was published this year, which you can buy from my website : www.carolinearthur.com/shop and I’ll be sharing content from the book over the coming weeks.

During this series, we’ll take one dress at a time, and look at its fabric, its features and how to transform it so it can be used again.

Some of the dresses I’ll show you how to dye or paint them, some we’ll restyle, repurpose or even refabricate… that’s things like cutting them into shreds and knitting with them!
