How To Air-layering On Mango Plant :

Here are some steps for air layering a mango plant:
1. Select a branch
Choose a branch that grows upwards and receives good sunlight. The branch should be 3–6 ft long and 3/4–2 in in diameter.
2. Prepare the branch
Remove all leaves and side branches from about a foot of the branch.
3. Girdling
Using a knife or girdling scissors, make two cuts through the bark about 1.5–2 in apart. The cuts should stop when you reach the inner wood.
4. Remove the bark
Use pliers to strip away the bark between the two girdling cuts. This removes the phloem tissue, which transports sugars and other products from photosynthesis.

Here are some tips for air layering a mango plant:
Shoots from trees under 30 years old have a higher percentage of rooting than shoots from trees over 30 years old.
The best rooting media is a mixture of sphagnum moss, vermiculite, polythene, and gunny sack.
The best soil for establishing layers is a mixture of sand, garden soil, and leaf mold.
To minimize transpiration, pinch off about 20% of the leaves.
Keep potted plants in the shade and water regularly.
