As storms fired along the triple point in NE KS, we managed to snag a tornado intercept at extremely close range, as the storm began to produce a strong tornado. This tornado was rated an EF-2 with windspeeds of 110mph. The tornado remained on the ground for 30 minutes as it tracked to the NE of Alta Vista, KS, threatening the community of Alma, KS before occluding and roping out.
