"Молитва Русских" Anthem of the Russian Empire (1816-1833)

The first highly approved national anthem of Russia.
At the end of 1816, Alexander I issued a decree that established the procedure for the performance of the anthem. His music was the tune of the British anthem (words and music by Henry Carey). The anthem was to be performed at the meetings of the Emperor. He remained the national anthem of Russia until 1833, when he was replaced by the anthem "God Save the Tsar!"].
The words of the anthem are a poem by V. A. Zhukovsky, the first two stanzas of which were first published in the journal “Son of the Fatherland” for 1815 and were called “Prayer of the Russian people”.

Перрвый Высочайше утверждённый государственный гимн России.
В конце 1816 года Александр I издал указ, который установил порядок исполнения гимна. Его музыкой стал напев британского гимна (слова и музыка Генри Кэри). Гимн должен был исполняться при встречах Императора. Оставался государственным гимном России вплоть до 1833 года, когда был сменён гимном «Боже, Царя храни!».
Словами гимна являются стихотворение В. А. Жуковского, первые две строфы которого впервые были напечатаны в журнале «Сын отечества» за 1815 год и назывались «Молитва русского народа».
