Notching Logs For The Loft Floor | Our Homestead Cabin Build

The loft floor is going UP! Logs are being notched into the walls and the beam is officially in place!!!

The rainy summer season is starting to fall upon us as well. We are hurrying to try and get a roof onto the cabin before the real wet season sets in.

This time next year, we plan on building a greenhouse so watching the sun and the weather has been a big task as well. Seedlings continue to grow at our current home and Henry continues to giggle through the days!

Once the tongue & groove flooring has been installed on the loft logs, we will be working on about 2 more rows of logs and then we are on to the gable ends. (The A-Frame roof).

The roof going on is so close we can taste it! Some scaffolding may be in order to continue the show but that is to be determined.

Stay tuned, our next video will finish up the loft flooring and continue to build our cabin upwards! If we are lucky, we may just FINALLY move the camper to the property. Maybe.
