Celebrity Beyond DAY 2 | Realizing Celebrity Cruises May Not Be a Good Fit For Us! 😬

We had been reluctant to cruise with Celebrity because all we've ever heard about Celebrity is that it's a boring cruise line with older people and while we're in our 40's and 50's we're a couple who loves to laugh and have a good time. We figured the ship has pools, jacuzzis, live entertainment, great food, how bad could it be! Now, I'm a don't knock it until you've tried it type of gal, so after reading all of the amazing reviews of the ship, we pulled the trigger and booked our very first Celebrity cruise. Yay! We figured this will be the first time we're actually going on a cruise with the expectation of relaxing - no water slides or activities to distract us from the vacation we thought we could enjoy. After all, it sure does sound good on paper. Spoiler alert!!! While there was nothing wrong with Celebrity Beyond, we quickly discovered it was not for us. Spending an entire week of "relaxing" was brutal. It never occurred to me how strong of a desire I could have to shoot hoops, play mini-golf, locate a pool table or just do something - ANYTHING! Thankfully, they had a comedian and magician on board that provided us with great entertainment and made me feel like I still had a pulse. 🤣 I laugh but boy do I wish I was kidding.
