Video for Beat Battle BB66 Tiger Strike vs Goose Feet
Music Geoffrey SmartPunk. Featuring samples from Sick-E and Guska

BB66, Sick-E and Guska decided to team up and contribute a small sample pack each for a special "combo edition" of the BB. The idea is that of a battle within a battle, having sounds and musical concepts from both sides "face off" against each other in each entry.

The instructions are fairly simple: Pick at least one sample from each pack (and ideally balance the amount to which each pack is used, at least roughly) and incorporate them into your track in "versus style", so not actually combining them synergistically, but rather building a musical, structural etc. contrast around them. That could be a classic A/B/A/B structure to your piece, or something more subtle or intricate or strange. The important part is to have some kind of tension in the resulting piece, a
not-fully-resolved conflict between the two sides. Speaking of which:

Tiger Strike: Decided to only use (my own) Vital presets for this, resulting in a small collection of leads, plucks, basses and pads. They all sound rather aggressive, futuristic, in-your-face bombastic. Build with it whatever you like, but make it strike hard and strike fast (no mercy). ;) The samples are all in 86bpm (aka 172bpm), didn't get around to redoing them in a different speed, sorry. But you can chop, stretch, re-synthesize or whatever else you have available...

Goose Feet: Ambience-like sounds described as "birds, drones, hissing" (but also more than that). This part of your track should consist of at least 30% 'silent' parts (that means almost no rhythm, melody notes or similar structures). Your own 'silent' parts are, of course, welcome.
