Koska, Siksi & Sillä | Learn the Difference 🤯 Finnish Lesson

In this Finnish video lesson, I will go over the basic difference between the words: koska, siksi & sillä.

koska: because, when (question word)
siksi: therefore, that's why, because of that
siksi, että: because (synonym with koska)
sillä: since, due to the fact that (this word can't start a sentence)

Extra examples:
1) Menin kauppaan, koska ruoka loppui. = I went to the store, because there is no food (the food ended).
Menin kauppaan siksi, että ruoka loppui. = (same)
Ruoka loppui, siksi menin kauppaan. = There is no food (The food ended), that's why I went to the store.

2) Ostan uuden puhelimen, koska mun meni rikki. = I will buy a new phone, because mine broke.
Ostan uuden puhelimen siksi, että mun meni rikki, = (same)
Mun puhelin meni rikki, siksi ostan uuden. = My phone broke that's why I'm buying a new one.

3) Juon vettä, koska mulla on jano. = I'm drinking water because I'm thirsty.
Koska mulla on jano, juon vettä. = Because I'm thirsty I'm drinking water.
Juon vettä, sillä mulla on jano. = I'm drinking water since I'm thirsty.

4) Laitoin aurinkolasit päälle, koska on aurinkoista. = I put on sunglasses, because it's sunny.
Koska on aurinkoista, laitoin aurinkolasit päälle. = Because it's sunny, I put on sunglasses.
Laitoin aurinkolasit päälle, sillä on aurinkoista. = I put on sunglasses since it's sunny.
