This lovely young patient came to me because she just felt that her mouth had always looked strained. She was very unhappy with her #GummySmile, which just means showing too much gingiva when smiling. She was also curious about what chin enhancement would look like, specifically to improve the appearance of the dimples that appeared in her chin with animation. As I evaluated her during consultation, I noticed that she had a deficient chin, or what we call #microgenia, but she also had a lot of strain of her muscles above and below her mouth. She had a little excess of her upper jaw, causing the gummy smile and deficiency of her lower jaw. So this imbalance is what she saw in the mirror and what she brought her to me. We opted for a combination of non-surgical modalities to achieve a more balanced, contoured and relaxed outcome through HA filler and neuromodulator. We injected @Daxxify to target the muscles that control the gummy smile, lowering her upper lip when she smiles, and also in the muscles of her chin to combat the ‘peau d’orange,’ another common term for chin dimpling with movement. To further balance and sculpt her lower face, we actually placed two syringes of RHA 4 from @theRHAcollection into her chin, using a DermaSculpt microcannula. As you can see the results are quite striking. Her lower third now doesn’t look strained — she looks more relaxed, happier, and she is just absolutely thrilled with the results, and so am I.
