This week off-grid was full of progress, surprises, and a bit of smoke in the air. Our friend continued working on the 200-year-old oak bed frame, shaping this beautiful piece of history into something we can finally sleep on. It’s not finished yet, but the craftsmanship is really starting to shine.

Back at home, we kept the garden moving forward and finally completed the stone smoker I’ve been building from scratch. We lit it for the first time and started smoking meat the traditional way — slow, steady, and full of flavour. It will take a couple of days, but the smell alone makes the work worth it.
