Come take a vintage Halloween collection tour of this nostalgic and spooky Pop-up Halloween Museum exhibit. We have been building props for the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose CA over the past 5 years. Because they know my love for all things vintage Halloween and the collection I have accumulated over the years they asked me to create a Halloween display utilizing my decorations. This really was a dream job and so appreciate the Winchester for trusting me with this space. I wanted to create something nostalgic and fun for the guests. When you first walk in you will experience a retro collection from the 1960s up through the 1990s. From blow molds, books, vinyl records, VHS tapes, kids meal toys and buckets, Pez, and a variety of decorations. The next space is a recreation of a 1920s or 1930s Halloween party. Streamers line the ceiling and windows. Antique paper die cuts and party decorations fill the room. And finally as you step into the final room you are greeted with an old fashion 5 and 10 storefront. I did my best to recreate what it would have looked like with all the amazing merchandise that would have been sold. Also presented are authentic 100 year old Halloween costumes. On the rooms other side you will find a collection of antique paper mache pumpkins and a variety of novelty toys, games, candy boxes and decor. Everything in this room is from the early 1900s to the 1950s. To wrap up the experience we created an oversized Ben Cooper costume box to make a photo op.
