Описание к видео Virtual Information Session: Addiction and Public Policy Scholars Program

This virtual event took place on December 6, 2021.

The Addiction and Public Policy Initiative at the O’Neill Institute, in conjunction with the Recovery Policy Collaborative, is seeking applicants for the Addiction Policy Scholars Program.

The Addiction Policy Scholars program supports current and emerging leaders who have practical and lived expertise in the field of substance use disorder but have been traditionally underrepresented in the public policy space. This includes people with lived experience with addiction, formerly incarcerated persons, and members of the Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) communities. Scholars are appointed for one year beginning in September 2022. Applications close on December 31, 2021.

Scholars will work with Georgetown faculty, members of the Recovery Policy Collaborative, and other subject matter experts to further their expertise in addiction policy and develop a policy reform project that will support and advance their existing work and interests. Scholars will participate remotely while continuing their existing work; full-time residence at the O’Neill Institute in Washington, D.C. is not required. This program does not require a specific level of education.

The Recovery Policy Collaborative is a network of experts in health, human rights, policy, and law who have lived experience with addiction. The collaborative includes current and former government officials, innovators in the treatment and harm reduction fields, researchers, clinicians, professors, and advocates from across the United States who seek to leverage our collective expertise to advance good public policy. The collaborative seeks to support and advance the diverse voices of people with lived experience to lead in the creation and implementation of good public policy.
