The second iteration of my LEGO clock, 3½ years after the first one. 99% LEGO Technic! It uses ONE motor! It's smaller than the original! And it strikes the hour!

…Yes, I know I did say that it has "all of the features of the original," but it actually doesn't. I left off the moon phase indicator, oops!

I'm not actually sure what kind of striking mechanism it is – it's not a rack-and-snail mechanism that is used on modern mechanical clocks, nor is it a count wheel mechanism used on antique clocks. I suppose it is closer to the rack mechanism though, since if the striking mechanism is disabled it will not become desynchronized with the actual time like a count wheel mechanism would.

Future plans include a smooth-running and less erratic motor circuit, as well as a full Westminster chime mechanism.
