BLESSÈD ARE
(Matthew 5:3-12)

1. Blessèd are all those who are poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
Blessèd are those who mourn, for they’ll be comforted,
Blessèd are those who belong to Christ.

2. Blessèd are all those who are meek and gentle,
For all of them shall inherit the earth.
Blessèd are all those who hunger and all who thirst
For righteousness, for they shall be filled.

3. Oh! Blessèd are all those who are merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy. Blessèd are
The pure in heart, because they shall all see the Lord.
Blessèd are those who belong to Christ.

4. Blessèd are the peacemakers, for they’ll be called
Sons of God. Blessèd, yes happy are those
Who are persecuted because of righteousness,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5. Blessèd are you when people shall revile you,
And when they shall persecute you, and shall
Falsely say all manner of evil against you
For My sake. Be glad and full of joy!

6. Rejoice and also be exceedingly glad,
For great is your reward in the heavens;
For in the same way they always persecuted
