This lecture was presented by Prof Josua Meyer (Head of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Pretoria, South Africa) on 4 November 2015. It was presented to the final year class of graduating students before the students start with final examinations. It gives guidelines of how students should manage their careers to ensure that they get good training to prepare for professional registration (PrEng) at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). This lecture was presented in the personal capacity of the speaker and not on behalf of ECSA.
