A brief history of the The United States' October 25th 1983 invasion of Grenada began at dawn that day. The U.S. and a coalition of six Caribbean nations invaded the island nation which sits 100 miles north of Venezuela. Codenamed Operation Urgent Fury by the U.S. military, it resulted in victory and military occupation until December 1983.
